The Card of the Week – Knight of Arrows
With the Knight of Hawks the promise is swift action that follows clear thinking form great heights. In other words, you have flown high enough to see the whole picture and can act from this broad view. The caution is not to rush to decisions without seeing from the biggest possible perspective for you. Let it all unfold while you stay firm on beliefs, doubting your doubts as the details emerge. With the line up of Major Arcana cards this week, it is a big shift. We are past the midpoint of Mercury Retrograde. Let your clear view allow you more options then you ever dreamed where possible for you. Hold onto your heart’s desire and see the rich expanding range of avenues to get you where you want to go!
Card of the Day:
Day One – The Journey
No kidding, this card represents the death of old outdated beliefs and limitations. It is the slow transformation of what’s time has passed to allow it to fall to the earth and fertilize the new seeds of growth. It may be that it is time to strip to the bare bone the essentials of your nature so that fears and neuroses can be faced and cleansed. Endings require a ritual to allow for the old ideas to be honored and grief at what’s passed to be felt. Be gentle with yourself today, my friend. What has gone before had it’s day, served you well and now there is fresh starts, beginnings and the unfamiliar waiting for you. But first you must allow the old to come to an end. Give it an intellectual or emotional burial – you deserve nothing less.
Action: See where fear of loss has kept you tied to the old. Give what is passing an intellectual or emotional burial – you deserve nothing less.
Day Two – Queen of Arrows
With the Queen of Arrows, it is important to face unpleasant truths and recognize where your fierce defense of your point of view has kept you alone and sometimes uncomfortably so! Today is about acknowledging the truth and the suffering in that truth of where you’ve struggled by yourself. This card says use your wisdom and insight to help connect you with more than the ‘right’ way to do something. Let it help you see where your cool and rational take on things may have been winning the battle but losing the war. The defensiveness you have felt was in proportion to the sensitivity your heart feared wounding. Avoiding pain was the old way. Choosing what is worth risking disappointment for is the new. Some risk will bring great rewards today!
Action: Take any criticism directed towards you or you feel for another and pause. Give yourself time to acknowledge and allow that the smartest thing may not be the right answer. The kindest one, absolutely deserves your consideration – kind to you and another!
Day Three – Ancestor
The Ancestor is so deeply connected to the primal heartbeat of the Earth and all who live on it that today, spend a moment to connect with Nature. Whether you hold a snowflake on your tongue, turn your face to the Sun and stand in it, listen to the water lapping on the shore, smell the rich earth we live on, connect with the physical awareness of Earth. Just as the rainbow is the promise of light after the storm, know that your leap from the old to the new and expanding expanse of life is met with approval and support. It is all unfolding as perfectly as spring follows winter, summer follows spring. Trust the cycles, trust your timing, recognize how far you’ve come and give yourself credit for the courage to leap into the void of the unknown ahead of you. You will flourish!
Action: Find your choice of ways to spend five minutes or more connected with something in Nature. Do share with us what you felt called to do…
Day Four – Five of Stones
This five says you have accomplished a great deal and in doing so you have challenged old ideas that limited what you believed was possible. Endurance requires refueling. It’s been a big week and there is more to come. Shock requires the time to let it move through the body, even if it’s a welcome change. Rest, repair, acknowledge your efforts and know that what’s yours will never be lost to you. You will reap your rewards with more joy after a pause. Know that this time out to consolidate all you want to accomplish, all you feel will pay dividends forward. You aren’t ending your journey, you are merely stopping to rest on the way.
Action: Take a break today! Instead of seeing what’s left to do, honor how far you’ve come. You can never give yourself too much encouragement to keep going.
Day Five – The Mirror
This week of Major Arcana cards is in sync with the intense Mercury Retrograde. This card symbolizes the deep emotional and psychological healing that takes place when you acknowledge your own pain and suffering. With the Mercury Retrograde theme of the limitations of your parents inflicting scars that are now coming to the surface to heal, this week’s cards are RIGHT on point. This is ‘deep’ and it can be scary. Be sure you give yourself safe space to feel what you are feeling, move through it with love and know that ‘the wound is the place where light enters you’ (Rumi). Find your light in the old wounds this week and know the worst is over. It only gets better from here with your healing.
Action: Have a trusted witness to your story – a journal, a friend, a therapist. Allow yourself to be seen in the old story you are trading in for the new.
Day Six – The Shaman
Well, this card is where the other cards this week all come together. The Shaman makes sense in every sense of the word of what is happening to you as you move through the big changes both inside and out. Here is where the joy can rush in as you understand in a powerful, physical sense – rather than a mental and distant view – how perfectly everything is coming together for you. It gives you a real chance to see, feel, experience how naturally things can come together for a rich, wonderful experience that incorporates the pain and struggle in as easily as it does the laughter and sweetness. The world is good and everything in it has something to offer you if you let it. Trust yourself, trust what you are creating and trust what is coming to be will be greater than you could have imagined.
Action: Breathe deeply and feel the enormous length and breadth of life here on Earth. Know that you have an infinitely precious part to play just by being you.
Day Seven – The Green Man
The Green Man has a Father Christmas feel. This is an earthy, tangible good-natured masculine bounty served up for you. Building on the cards this week we wrap up feeling the abundance and having choices that can delight you if you let them. You can immerse yourself in the possibilities of today or you can isolate yourself wishing for other ingredients to mix up. Why not let the unexpected tickle you with amusement. There is just so much available to you… every where you look!
Action: Use your eyes to see the whimsical or wicked humor in all that is served up today. Be delighted at something…
