Pisces New Moon – We Hear…Evolution

Neptune Realm Cello Player
This New Moon may lack the electrifying intensity of the past couple of moon cycles, but it remains potent. April aspects and the eclipses promise an energetic surge that can propel us forward in significant ways. However, there’s a catch—it’s all about how well we listen and learn from our past experiences.  Humanity has a habit of repeating closed loops.  We rely on a small percentage of people to help break into a spiral of evolution.

It’s because many of us tend to listen at the frequency tuned to hear what we think we are going to hear.  We anticipate feedback and selectively listen.  To transition into creation mode (spiral) from reaction mode (loop), we need to enhance our ability to connect with one another safely. In today’s hyper-vigilant world, most people hear what they’re predisposed to hear, resulting in the same outcomes. This closed loop occurs because we often listen defensively rather than with open curiosity. It’s uncomfortable to take in  what lies outside the familiar.

It’s tempting to passively listen without truly engaging or to unleash our mental guard dogs at the first sign of perceived threat. In essence, we listen for confirmation bias, seeking out information that confirms our existing beliefs. However, this approach is what keeps us stuck in the same patterns.  Mercury Retrograde means we will have Mercury in Aries for almost two months, along with Chiron and the eclipses.   It lights up those divisive habits of communicating that occur when we either don’t want to engage or don’t know how to engage beyond the familiar patterns.

The goal this Moon cycle is to learn how to listen better.  The right frequency is there for your greater well-being, waiting for you to tune in to it.  Beyond familiar wavelengths, there are new ones brimming with sustainable growth.  It’s there within reach;  you need only cock your head and hear with your whole body.  Doing so opens up a whole new realm of understanding and connection. You’ll experience emotions more deeply, breaking free from familiar loops—a potentially unnerving yet rewarding experience. You possess more resources than you realize, but it requires truly listening to others to discover them. While this process may end some conversations, close some doors, it ultimately opens far more than it shuts.  How exciting, right?  The Cards and Stars will help.

Thank you,

3/10    Pisces New Moon: Prince of Swords – Freedom

The Prince of Swords serves as a prime example of how rushing to judgment can sever connection and create distance between people. Our initial perception in any conversation is often colored by our personal history, acting as the lens through which we view the interaction. Approaching conversations with fresh eyes and ears requires bravery and boldness. Mars, having just separated from the square to Uranus, offers both of these and motivates a drive towards changing our actions. In fact, the skies have concentrated all kinds of light to help us navigate these changes together.

One crucial change involves recognizing the goal of any conversation. Do both parties aim for a shared outcome? If one insists on being right, it leads to separation rather than connection. Like this Knight of Swords, adopting a right/wrong mentality prevents genuine connection. By its very nature, claiming to be right places one person above the other, wiping out any sense of connection and instead fostering a power dynamic. The key is to avoid rushing. Not easy as we head for an Aries period.  Still, with Saturn on one side of the Sun and Moon in Pisces and Neptune on the other this New Moon, achieving the ideal outcome requires consistent effort over time.

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting the same results, right? We’re currently in a transformative period designed to shift our approach to everything. Focusing on the process proves more beneficial than fixating on the outcome, especially the need to be right. Invest effort to reorient yourself towards truly listening to understand the other person.

If that feels challenging, take a step back and listen to yourself first. Deeply tuning into your own feelings and needs, rather than just revisiting past pain, reduces internal pressure, which then opens you up to engaging with others, even in disagreement.  Step back, center yourself and listen to your  body and heart first.  Return to conversation when you are centered.  It’s a game changer when you do.  Once you taste the freedom and opportunity of this approach, reverting to old habits feels suffocating. Now that you’ve glimpsed the alternative, the old way seems far too limiting!

3/11      Three of Cups:  Good News

This Three of Cups heralds good news amidst today’s sweet transits. Venus enters Pisces for the next three weeks, bringing a gentler, more compassionate energy to our endeavors. It serves as a counterbalance to the challenges posed by Mars transits. While a part of you may be inclined to engage in conflict over perceived wounds, another part is increasingly drawn to seeking peace through unexpected avenues. By evening, the Moon and Chiron join forces, enhancing the likelihood of love winning over strife.

On such a promising day, surely there are better pursuits than revisiting old battles. Take a moment to explore the many enjoyable possibilities beckoning to you. Listen to the invitations and then choose one. Why not focus on creation rather than defense? Engaging in creative endeavors serves as a powerful expression of life force, expanding your horizons in meaningful ways. So why not immerse yourself in that realm of play?

3/12      The sun:  Eye On Ego

Ah, the most positive card in the entire deck emerges to shine and invites you to join in the effort. The only caution is that too much sun can burn. So, keep a steady eye on your ego as the Moon makes several challenging contacts today before settling in for the evening on familiar ground. It’s a good opportunity to practice listening. First and foremost, tune in to what your body has to say about anything that happens. When you find yourself responding, notice what you do with the stimulation.

Are you more drawn to enjoyment or protection? If it’s the former, allow yourself to fully immerse in how much you enjoy what you do. If you find that you delight in power struggles as a way to feel safer, pay attention to that too. What other ways can you explore the moment? Take a deep breath, as feelings may run high today. Don’t worry, the Sun promises that no matter how dark the night, the next day will come. Just focus on this moment and find what brings you pleasure in it. It’s there, I promise.

3/13      The Empress:  Choices We Make

The Moon in Taurus finds herself in her element, with sturdy Saturn providing ample support. This combination allows us to truly feel the abundance that surrounds us when we take a closer look. Abundance exists in every direction; all we need is to open our eyes and ears to it. However, our brains often become overwhelmed by too many choices, leading most of us to view the world through a lens of scarcity, which can feel less threatening.

What we must learn is how to make choices and trust in them, knowing that mistakes are inevitable. When things don’t go as planned, how do you interpret it? Can you offer yourself a kinder explanation? The opportunity lies in integrating these missteps into a richer narrative, recognizing that they are not a judgment on your abilities or your path in life. Take some time tonight to examine any instances where you’ve been unkind to yourself regarding your mistakes. Rewrite the narrative so that you can glean wisdom from your experiences rather than allowing them to limit you. This shift will not only open you up to abundance but also allow you to truly enjoy it

3/14      Ten of Swords:  Endings For New Beginnings

Today marks the end of something significant. The Ten of Swords signifies the pain we experience when our plans or dreams don’t unfold as expected. We may perceive them as failures or realize that they cannot continue in their current form. Swords represent the realm of our mind, where pain often strikes swiftly. However, it’s the meanings we attach to these experiences that can prolong our suffering, trapping us in familiar patterns even when they don’t serve us. Today, the Moon’s challenging aspects has us confront lingering childhood stories that limit our self-perception. Except you can’t keep that perception and continue to grow.

Recall The Empress from yesterday—know that the Universe isn’t blocking your path to cause harm. Instead, it’s nudging you to explore new possibilities and embrace different strategies. It closes one door, so that you see countless opportunities that await your discovery. While it’s essential to  compassionately grieve whatever ends, avoid rushing to fill the void with distractions or coping mechanisms.

Take a moment to sit quietly with yourself, allowing your body and mind to settle. Embrace the process of letting go, making room for curiosity and anticipation as you prepare to welcome what lies ahead. Life’s abundance is waiting for you to embrace it fully.  Life includes endings followed by new beginnings.  It’s our interpretation that makes that process brutal instead of natural.  Feel the loss while you balance it with sure knowledge that what you lose has something wonderful to take its place, when you remain open to it.

3/15      The Star:  Believe Your Dreams

This beautiful card promises that hard work is rewarded with dreams come true. It represents both our dreamy wishes on Stars but pairs them with feet on the ground. It reminds us that when we love something, obstacles become a way to test our devotion. When delays and setbacks discourage you, sometimes it means that it was an impulse more than a heart wish. Then again, it can be that you lack self-confidence and trust that you can have what you most desire when you work for it. After the disappointment of yesterday, how do you keep going in pursuit of things that aren’t easily reached?

You need to hear your inner monologue today. If you don’t have an internal cheerleader yet, add one. Go stand in front of the mirror and give yourself a pep talk. It may feel foolish, but I assure you that the brain biology behind the actions is real. When you self-soothe and speak to yourself well, it gives you the self-confidence you didn’t learn in the past. Build it for yourself now.  You are worth your time.

Whether it’s a high five in the mirror, a good rousing pep talk, or just a single sentence that you believe in you, do it. If it feels strange, it may mean you aren’t used to positive reinforcement. Why not get used to it. Instead of waiting for anything outside of you to offer it, give it to yourself. Then you know you will never be without. You do deserve those dreams come true. Support yourself as they unfold in ways you couldn’t have imagined.

3/16      Nine of Wands:  Mastery

When nines appear, it is the hallmark of mastery. Sometimes it means you have it. Other times, it indicates you must learn it. Whichever is true for you today, you get to practice healthier self-talk. But first, you must listen. Tune in to any conflict between what you think you want and what’s really going on inside of you. The tensions are yours to unravel so you better understand what drives you. The more unconscious the impulses, the deeper and older they are likely to be. They need replacement.

It’s not as simple as trading out old tires for new. This is more like shoe shopping. You need to try a few things on, see if they meet both your functional and decorative needs. Insecurity can have you rush to decide based on only one of how it appeals or how well it functions. Stay with it and find solutions that include both. That is mastery. It’s also abundance. But you have to hold the transformational tension as you arrive at the right selections for you.

3/17      King of Swords:  Wider Horizons       Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Once a year, the Sun aligns with Neptune, and today is that day. With the Moon in Cancer and Venus in Pisces, this thoughtful King assists us in navigating the flow of emotions. It’s perfectly safe to experience those intense feelings; they don’t necessarily require specific reasons or justifications. Experiencing the full spectrum of human emotions is natural and essential. However, it’s crucial to consider how we contain and express these emotions. Each emotion serves a purpose and function; anger empowers us to assert boundaries, grief allows us to honor loss, and joy connects us to the present moment.

On this St. Patrick’s Day, let’s reflect on the richness of our emotional landscape and appreciate the diversity of feelings available to us. Emotions are like a box of crayons, offering a wide range of colors to paint our lives with depth and contrast. Despite societies beliefs which often frame certain emotions as negative, there are no inherently bad feelings; it’s our interpretations that can be harsh. So let’s embrace the full spectrum of emotions, exploring the multitude of shades within each feeling. Why not widen your horizons to include shade after shade of lovely moods.  Each one can make the one before or after it more beautiful by its presence.  Let your life become art…

3/18        Seven Of Cups:  Immersed In Illusion

How to navigate today’s energy? That’s the question. This Seven holds both promise and caution. When we focus on our instinctive desires, we attract resources to support them. Emotions carry a magnetic charge, so when we arrange them deliberately, we build upon the life-as-art journey we embarked on yesterday. This seven encourages such intentionality. However, it also warns against becoming so immersed in illusions that we neglect to give genuine attention to anything. We might find ourselves prioritizing others’ needs over our own or expecting reciprocity in our giving, only to realize the other person isn’t aligned with that exchange. This can create emotional pressure rather than a genuine gift.

Today’s challenge lies in listening to our feelings and desires, attracting the resources available to us, and learning to trust the ongoing flow rather than trying to control it. It’s about shaping what emerges from that flow while acknowledging it for what it is. When we do this, our choices illuminate our world like a kaleidoscope. Despite the square between Jupiter and Mercury and the touchy encounter between Chiron and the Moon, it’s possible to reimagine our vulnerabilities as precious pearls.  What began as pain, ended as art.  Which is why there is no need to avoid what bothers you, instead trust you can do something beautiful with it.

3/19      Queen of Wands: Personal Fulfillment  – Spring Equinox

We kick off the Astrological New Year with a dynamic Leo Moon opposing Pluto in Aquarius. Nearly all the planets are concentrated in four signs this Equinox: Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, and Taurus, setting the stage for the year ahead. It’s a balance between signs at the end of a cycle (Aquarius and Pisces) and those at the beginning (Aries and Taurus), offering an opportunity to learn from the past as we embark on something new. One notable event is the alignment of the North Node, Chiron, and an eclipse in Aries during the next Moon cycle, signaling a fresh start. Like most births, it may be messy.

As individuals discover their agency (Leo Moon opposite Pluto), how will they wield it? Some may rush to exert their power recklessly, forgetting that actions have consequences. Yes, you can act according to your desires, but be prepared to face the aftermath.  At some point, the allure of exploration fades, and the longing for deeper connections arises when you tune in and listen. This is when you realize that collaborations of all kinds are not only possible but enriching. However, navigating the inevitable friction of working with others requires growth and self-awareness.

True mastery lies in creating an environment that fosters creativity rather than merely seeking strategic advantage within someone else’s framework. Can you redefine what truly fulfills you?  We have revolutionary aspects to begin this new Astrological year.  The best use of it is overthrow dictatorship in your head and find your own internal governing system.  It’s an invitation to explore and evolve and learn alongside others what represents a healthy use of personal power that benefits more than just you.

3/20      The High Priestess: Intuitive Navigation

As the Sun enters Aries, Mercury aligns with Chiron, highlighting the challenge of self-confidence that comes with Chiron in Aries. People manifest their self-doubt in countless ways, from excessive assertion to complete withdrawal, all stemming from the same underlying issue: recognizing one’s inherent right to exist as they are. Your mission on Earth is to embody your individuality authentically, navigating through the layers of programming and survival mechanisms to access your instinctive, authentic self.

What’s essential is dedicating time to connect with this inner knowing, achieved through presence. Deep wisdom isn’t preoccupied with the past or future but remains rooted in the present moment, processing vast amounts of information beyond the capacity of the logical mind. As we enter eclipse season, taking strategic breaks for self-care becomes invaluable.

It’s crucial to remain conscious of how your body responds to change, as both fear and excitement trigger similar brain regions. By paying attention to your breath and social cues, you discern whether to retreat or engage—a skill particularly relevant as Mars approaches a conjunction with Saturn in the coming weeks. The more adept you become at fine-tuning your internal radar, the better you position yourself among the right people in the right circumstances to enjoy creating. Trust your instincts and navigate accordingly.

3/21      five of Swords: Self Doubt

We’ve got plenty of celestial support today, with the Venus/Saturn meeting standing out to me. Paired with the Five of Swords and the recent North Node and Chiron conjunction, the theme is self-doubt. Everyone grapples with their sense of worth, without exception. Yes, everyone. Even the most accomplished individuals face moments of uncertainty.  So, knowing that self-doubt is universal, how will you address yours?  Venus and Saturn together promise long term results when you see difficult things through.  Which is why this is a good skill building day.

You need self-talk that acknowledges fears while maintaining belief in yourself. Will you make time for that? Fives symbolize creativity and swords represent the mind. As much as you can question your abilities, you can also counter those doubts with affirmations of your strengths. Turn doubts into a strategic game. For every fear that arises, match it with a talent or resource you possess to counteract doubt. Play with it. After all, your mind will always attempt to slow your growth, so your task is to manage those brakes while keeping a steady emotional momentum forward.

3/22      Five of Wands:  Doubt those doubts
Congratulations! This five signifies that you’ve transitioned from mental paralysis to courageous action. Don’t allow the results, or their absence, to deter you. That’s just another way to slow your progress. If you draw conclusions prematurely, your worry can hinder your ongoing growth. Keep in mind that today you might learn through opposition. As Mars enters Pisces and the Moon shifts into Virgo, there’s transformational tension as your actions (Mars) position you against what provides security (Moon).
Two fives together maintain the theme of self-doubt. Practice is key. Therefore, today, focus on questioning your doubts. Confront those fears head-on. How valid are they? Where have you succeeded in the past? Combat fear with determination and let the intensity and brightness help instill a bit more courage.

3/23      King of Pentacles:  Making A way

Before dawn, you might experience restless or somber dreams. However, as the Sun rises, you’ll realize that you’re capable of facing any challenge one step at a time. Jupiter harmonizes with the Moon, infusing the morning with optimism. It’s a perfect day to create a gratitude list, serving as a tangible reminder of the support and blessings you’ve already received. It also helps you recognize how well-resourced you are, instilling trust in the unknown as you seek fresh answers to old questions.

Remember, you’re learning to assert yourself powerfully in the world. This King signifies that you not only occupy space but also command it in your own unique way. It’s not about dominating others but about navigating your path while preserving relationships rather than exploiting them for personal gain. Embrace the idea that mistakes matter less than the lessons they teach and the growth they inspire. Pentacles symbolize slow progress as the body adapts over time. Rest assured, you’re on the right track. Celebrate your success in this moment; take a moment to acknowledge it.

3/24      Prince of Cups:  Heartfelt Advancement

Embark on a kind, inward journey, find the courage to voice your deepest desires and needs. It requires some attention and time to discover the edges of those big old emotional icebergs within you.  But this Prince is the promise that when you do, you make the possibility of getting it much stronger.  Our journey began with a Prince, and now, as it concludes, we encounter another. When two Princes intersect, they shed light on the shadowy side of power. Resorting to manipulation often stems from doubt that fulfillment can come through authentic expression. Yet, such strategies drain energy and erode trust. Even if you do get your way, you don’t feel safer for doing it.  Dare to recognize any old habits of manipulation, and trade them in for a more genuine expression of your desires and boundaries. Embrace this transformation, and the freedom of expression that comes from it awaits you.
